Small hinges move big doors.
Each day starts with gentle yoga, meditation practice, and a delicious, nutritious breakfast. Then we will explore a "hinge" to help us make powerful, sustainable changes. Each day also includes a nutritious lunch, dinner, and other activities. Most dietary needs can be accommodated.
Each day is a little different, but general schedule is something like:
Day 1 and Day 3: FOOD & CHANGE SCIENCE; FOOD AS MEDICINE–
We have to eat to live, and that relationship so easily gets out of perspective in our current society. Many of us feel like it's a fight between enjoying food and enjoying health. But we can learn how to enjoy and indulge in nutritious foods instead of depriving ourselves. We can feed ourselves luxuriously in order to enjoy health. We will use nutrition science, psychology, cultural norms, and learn some delicious nutritious recipes, and explore more topics around food.
Day 2: MOVEMENT & RELATIONSHIP WITH YOUR BODY–
Movement isn't a grueling activity that we have to force ourselves to do just to look a certain way. Instead we need to understand the true value and joy of movement. This could be gentle movement, fun new hobbies, momentum-building movement that leads to sustainable training goals, and other movement that will add to our lives, improve our health, and get us where we want to go.
Day 4: ABUNDANCE & RADICAL SELF-LOVE –
Health is not about less - weighing less, eating less, indulging less. It's about abundance! More indulgence in real food, more energizing movement, more self-respect, more joy in accomplishing goals, more life-changing health, more quality of life, more, more, more. We also need to see ourselves in a light of love, acceptance, respect, and understanding in order to get on the same team with ourselves, have healthy expectations, and to stop feeling like it's a fight.
Day 5: STRATEGIES & HABITS –
You have a lot of information, but how will this be different when you go home? Learn tools for success, small habits that are easy yet effective, and plan based on what works for YOU long-term without a fight.
Throughout the week optional activities include:
- A cacao ceremony,
- Basic cooking demonstrations,
- Temazcal sweat lodge,
- Sound baths,
- Breath work,
- Latin dance crash course,
- Waterfall hike,
- Beach time, and
more included activities. You will also have the option to add additional activities like spa services or extra excursions.
You will leave the retreat with solid ideas, tools, and a fresh perspective, but it doesn't stop there. You have options to keep working with Salty Viking and will be part of a community of like-minded souls on similar journeys. Having support with those who understand is a game-changer on our journey.
